Taking care of myself properly is fairly new to me and I realize this may be a very dumb question, but I hear people refer to “eating clean” all the time. What does “eating clean” mean? Is this a specific diet?
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 20, 2010, under Customer Q & A, Diet Plans
This is definitely not a dumb question. Eating clean is not a specific eating plan. Eating clean is a term that is used to describe the act of “cleaning up” your diet. In very simple terms it means cutting out the crap. When you’re eating clean you’ve cut out foods like pizza, cheeseburgers, fries, ice [...]

The Skinny Guy Part 1: Get Your Mind Right
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Jun 30, 2010, under Diet Plans
“I have been underweight my entire life and no matter what I eat I never gain a pound. I eat A LOT and can’t seem to put on anything! I’m sick of being the skinny guy.”
Sound familiar? Well, if you’re one of the people out there who has never been able to gain any weight, [...]

My friend told me that I should be using time-released protein before I go to bed instead of regular protein. Is this really better than regular whey protein?
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Jun 16, 2010, under Supplement Myths
There is no way to know for sure if “time-released” proteins are better than “regular” proteins because “time-released” proteins don’t exist. “Time-released” proteins fads that were popular in the late 90’s that have recently been making a comeback in popularity on chat forums. Notice I said a “fad”.
There was a time when many companies put [...]
I recently began working out and eating clean and I am having tremendous results! However, I find that my friends (and even some of my family) aren’t very supportive of my efforts. Honestly, it feels like they want me to fail sometimes and I can’t stand it. What should I do?
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Jun 08, 2010, under Never Settle
You know, unfortunately this is a very common problem and there is no easy solution to it. As you are learning, fitness is definitely a lifestyle, and it’s important to note that it’s a lifestyle not everyone is willing to commit to. It’s a commitment you make to yourself to help you become a better [...]

Don’t Compromise…NEVER SETTLE!
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Apr 29, 2010, under Never Settle
You want to know a sure fire way to never ever get what you want in life? Start compromising.
Think about it. How many times has your comprising with yourself forced you to settle with something you really didn’t even want?
Look around you:
• Is the job you have your dream job?
• Is the relationship you’re in [...]

I recently saw an ad for a protein powder that claimed to be 6,000% better that whey protein for building muscle but after looking at the label it seems to be made up almost entirely of whey protein. How can that be? Am I missing something? There are a few ingredients that I don’t recognize at the end of the ingredient list, but it looks to be mostly whey protein.
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Mar 02, 2010, under Customer Q & A
Great question, I’m really glad you brought this up! Your gut instincts are correct in questioning this claim. The short answer is it’s not 6,000% better than whey protein. It’s nothing short of an outright lie. If there were a protein supplement/source that was 6,000% better than whey protein for muscle growth the research would [...]
Intensity: either show up with it or get the hell out of the way.

What’s up with the people that go to gyms these days? I train at a “big box” gym and I am consistently puzzled by the number of people who obviously have no real desire to be there, but insist on making it their nightly hang out anyway. You know who I’m talking about; the ones [...]
I read on your blog that Ignition/Phormula-1 should not be used directly after a cardio workout. Why is this? I do a lot of running and I am trying to lose some weight. I do some lifting but I am really just trying to be lean and not looking to put on a lot of muscle. I guess my basic question is how should I be using Ignition/Phormula-1 most effectively if I do mostly cardio workouts?
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Jan 21, 2010, under Customer Q & A
First off, if you are looking at getting lean, putting on muscle should be a priority not an afterthought. If you want to be lean and you do just cardio you aren’t going to get there. Cardio burns both muscle and fat, not just fat like most people think. If you aren’t training your muscles [...]

Your New Years Resolution: Eat More Fast Food!!
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Dec 30, 2009, under Never Settle
Seriously? Did I really just see a Taco Bell commercial touting the weight loss benefits of eating there everyday? Yep, I sure did. I am sitting here in my office working and I have the Miami/Wisconsin bowl game on and on comes this commercial for this lady who lost like 30 lbs over THREE YEARS [...]
