The product description of LEVEL-1 Protein makes it sound like it is not the fast assimilated protein that you would want right after a workout…is this true? If so, do you sell another protein that is assimilated faster?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 25, 2009, under Customer Q & A

The answer to both of these questions is yes. Level-1 is indeed a sustained assimilation protein designed to keep blood amino levels high for a period of 2-3 hours. Although you will not find a higher quality sustained assimilation protein on the market, it was not developed with post workout nutrition in mind. Level-1 was [...]

How do I know when I’m burning fat?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 25, 2009, under Customer Q & A

Well, you should start by taking the proper measurements along with taking pictures every four weeks to monitor your progress. The most immediate measure of fat loss will be how your clothes are fitting. Pay attention, if they are getting loser then you are burning fat or if they are getting tighter then you are [...]

I have been trying to get in shape for months. I have been eating good and have been working out every day for 45 minutes on the treadmill. The problem is that I don’t seem to see much muscle tone. My husband says I should start weight training, but that’s not what I want to do. I don’t want to get big and bulky like one of those bodybuilders. Do you have any advice?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 23, 2009, under Customer Q & A

My advice is that you should listen to your husband. The reason you aren’t getting toned is because you are not utilizing resistance training in your routine. You are doing lots and lots of cardio, which not only burns fat but with your restricted calorie diet is definitely burning muscle as well.
You say you’re eating [...]

What do you believe?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 21, 2009, under Never Settle

As I go through my life I have always found it very interesting to study and observe how different people view success. Not what they deem success to be, because that is different for everyone, but more how they think of success as an event that happens. I am shocked how few people understand what [...]

Will alcohol affect my muscle gain?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 19, 2009, under Customer Q & A

First I will assume you mean one or two drinks per day. A drink is defined as 1 ½ oz. of 80 proof spirits, a 12 oz. regular beer, or a 5 oz. glass of wine.
We have all heard how red wine has many health benefits. It contains a powerful antioxidant called resveratrol which is [...]

I have a problem staying motivated. It seems like as soon as I start seeing progress I find a way to stray off course. I have almost lost hope that I can stay with a workout program. Do you have any tips for staying motivated?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 17, 2009, under Customer Q & A

Staying motivated and consistent is one of the biggest challenges in fitness. Everyone has different reasons for wanting to be in shape. You have to cultivate that on your own. I cannot make up a reason for you to want to be in shape. You have to sit down and take a personal inventory of [...]

I like to occasionally use chewing tobacco before my workouts for a nice extra kick. Do you know anyone else who does this?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 15, 2009, under Customer Q & A

First off, I hate chewing tobacco. It smells nasty and I hated when one of my roommates back in college would leave the half filled mountain dew 20 oz. bottle filled with spit on the table I would be eating on. It was nasty! Just thinking of the smell makes me gag.
I have heard of [...]

What is the best solid food protein? I use a lot of whey, but I was just wondering if there was a “best” solid food protein?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Aug 11, 2009, under Customer Q & A

There are a ton of good choices for solid food protein. Really it comes down to what you will eat. I can tell you egg whites and tuna are the best, but if you won’t eat them, it doesn’t matter what I say. The answer to this question is, the less processed the food source [...]
