I have seen a lot of products lately that advertise “colon cleansing” as part of a way to help lose weight? Is this true and what product do you use to “cleanse”?

by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on Jun 29, 2010, under Customer Q & A, Supplement Myths

I have noticed this trend myself. It seems like colon cleansing is a hot topic in weight loss lately. I have even seen that many weight loss brands have gotten on board with this trend and promote a “kick start” to your weight loss program by starting with a 7 day or even [...]

My friend told me that I should be using time-released protein before I go to bed instead of regular protein. Is this really better than regular whey protein?

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Jun 16, 2010, under Supplement Myths

There is no way to know for sure if “time-released” proteins are better than “regular” proteins because “time-released” proteins don’t exist. “Time-released” proteins fads that were popular in the late 90’s that have recently been making a comeback in popularity on chat forums. This is an excellent question and may be one of the most valuable to consider. I’ll be the first to admit that the number of ingredients and products that are developed on a yearly basis is remarkable. The rapid growth rate of the industry makes the process of understanding seem virtually impossible what ingredients, [...]

I recently saw an ad for a protein powder that claimed to be 6,000% better that whey protein for building muscle but after looking at the label it seems to be made up almost entirely of whey protein. How can that be? Am I missing something? There are a few ingredients that I don’t recognize at the end of the ingredient list, but it looks to be mostly whey protein.

by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Mar 02, 2010, under Customer Q & A

Great question, I’m really glad you brought this up! Your gut instincts are correct in questioning this claim. The short answer is it’s not 6,000% better than whey protein. It’s nothing short of an outright lie. If there were a protein supplement/source that was 6,000% better than whey protein for muscle growth the research would [...]
