I keep hearing everybody talk about Omega-3 fatty acids and weight loss. I’m confused—I thought taking in fat made you fat?
by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on Aug 31, 2010, under Customer Q & A
Great question. The main point here is to understand that all fats are not created equal. If you are thinking of the fats that cause weight gain, you are probably referring to saturated fats. Saturated fats are commonly found in fatty meat, fried food and cheese, just to name a few. Saturated fats are the [...]

I have seen a lot of products lately that advertise “colon cleansing” as part of a way to help lose weight? Is this true and what product do you use to “cleanse”?
by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on Jun 29, 2010, under Customer Q & A, Supplement Myths
I have noticed this trend myself. It seems like colon cleansing is a hot topic in weight loss lately. I have even seen that many weight loss brands have gotten on board with this trend and promote a “kick start” to your weight loss program by starting with a 7 day or even [...]

I have finally reached my goal of the bikini body that I have been working months for. My butt is smaller and my legs are tighter; my abs have never been this flat! I have lost a significant amount of body fat and I’m very proud of my body. There’s just one problem—my boobs have practically disappeared! Now I was never a very busty girl to begin with, but what I had has shrunk down to a very small A cup. I’m so unhappy with my breasts that I am now contemplating breast augmentation. I am also considering competing in a figure competition down the road. Is it necessary to have breast implants to do well in figure? Having surgery is such a big decision—do you have any advice?
by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on May 05, 2010, under Women's Fitness
Well, you are not alone. This is a very common concern that many athletic women have. In case you may have forgotten, here is a little anatomy review: breast tissue is composed primarily of fat. So, if you become very lean through diet and exercise, not only will you lose excess body [...]

BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF!
by Dr. Chad Kerksick on Apr 07, 2010, under Never Settle
The world of exercise and nutrition is for many people largely build upon vanity concerns and outward appearance. While this isn’t true for everyone, it does seem to be the majority of individuals, especially if they are younger individuals. I guess older folks have either given up hope or don’t give two hoots anymore. [...]

Gillian, I read that you eat a lot of fish when you are leaning out for a competition. I want to lose some weight but I can’t live on tuna! Do you have any tips for preparing fish that tastes good?
by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on Mar 11, 2010, under Femme Phorm
It’s true, when I need to lean out, it requires a very strict diet and I rely on fish to help me do this! White fish such as cod, tilapia and orange roughy is low in fat and calories, high in protein and is an excellent source of essential fatty acids. Typically, when [...]

I have been dieting and working out for a few months and I am happy to report that I have lost twenty pounds so far! Although I am thrilled with this, I am hoping to lose another ten pounds to get to my goal weight, however, it seems that I am “stuck”. I’m really bummed out because it seems like I just can’t get the last ten pounds off. I’m ready to give up. Can you help?
by Phorm Athlete, Gillian Risebury on Feb 09, 2010, under Femme Phorm

I’m trying to lose weight. If I use Ignition, is it going to make me fatter?
by Chairman & CEO, Andrew Frisella on Nov 03, 2009, under Customer Q & A
Ignition will not and cannot make you fat if used correctly. In fact, if used correctly post-weight training (Ignition should not be used post-cardio for someone trying to lose body fat) it will actually cause you to burn fat faster. Contrary to what you might have read about carbs being the devil, it’s just not [...]
