Anyone who has had weight issues of any type has certainly at one point or another had their thyroid checked. Even with that being the case many are still unsure as to why or what the thyroid does or why they are having it checked. The thyroid gland is basically the puppet master of metabolism. It governs the production of two major hormones triiodothyronine and thyroxine, better known as T3 ad T4. These two hormones are absolutely essential to a healthy metabolism as they regulate the flow of oxygen to the cells. And believe it or not, oxygen is a key component to weight-loss since your body requires both oxygen and energy to burn fat. The thyroid is a small gland shaped like a butterfly that is located in the neck near the Adams Apple area. It absorbs iodine from foods you eat and combines it with the amino acid, tyrosine to produce T3 and T4. When it is operating on all cylinders, the thyroid produces about 80% T4 and about 20% T3. The more active of these two hormones is T3 (which is several time stronger than its sister hormone T4) is the one that actually functions at the cellular level. After being released from the thyroid, these two hormones travel through the bloodstream and aid in converting oxygen and calories into energy. The thyroid is responsible for production of some T3 the remainder of it is produced in what is known as T4 to T3 conversion from the inactive T4. Now that we are well versed on what the thyroid does, lets talk a little about how an under active or nearly inactive thyroid effects our metabolism. Because the thyroid determines whether you burn calories from foods you eat or store them as fat it is to your advantage to make sure that yours is always operating at full strength and producing an adequate amount of hormones. When your body cannot produce enough T3 and/or T4 to get oxygen to your cells, you have what is called hypothyroidism. A recent study has found that estimated 27 million Americans have been shown to have an under active thyroid and in more recent years has become one of the most common symptoms that a physician will encounter when addressing a weight issue with a patient. Stress, environmental pollution, bad eating and lifestyle habits, and even yo-yo dieting can affect the thyroid. Sound familiar? An under active thyroid, or hypothyroidism, will lead to a slow metabolism, resulting in weight gain, fatigue, depression, among other symptoms. Lets talk about how to combat that Thyro-Drive will deliver the ingredients your body needs to stimulate T3 and T4 production as well as the raw materials to do so. Thyroid stimulating products have been on the market for years and are extremely well known for their effectiveness. One of their main draws is the fact that they are stimulant free so they can be taken at any time of the day or night and you dont have to worry about being up all night. In addition this allows them to be paired or stacked with other stimulant-based thermogenics for maximum fat-loss potential. In fact, thyroid-stimulating products have long been part of the bodybuilders secret arsenal of fat-loss products. That doesnt mean that thyroid-stimulating supplements are reserved for body-builders because the truth is quite the opposite. Anyone who is on some sort of fat loss regimen will benefit greatly from a thyroid-stimulating supplement! Increased thyroid hormone levels lead to a higher metabolic rate, which leads to a greater caloric expenditure throughout the day and we all know that burning calories leads to fat loss!
